ategi provides support to vulnerable adults with learning disabilities, mental ill health and brain injury through its Shared Lives and Domiciliary Support services.  ategi has been operating successfully since 1994, initially in Cardiff and now working across Wales and England – with planned growth in their Shared Lives Provision.

They consider openness and transparency to be among their principal values, recognising that organisations that raise concerns and issues overcome problems more efficiently.

ategi will be implementing SpeakInConfidence in 2019 to help support their current employee feedback mechanisms.

SpeakInConfidence is an anonymous online portal facilitating total transparency for all levels of employees throughout entire organisations. By encouraging a culture of openness, management and company leaders can glean candid and honest feedback about how their employees feel about the organisation. This opens up the forum for essential, anonymous insights which individuals might not feel comfortable to say in person yet could help protect the reputation of the business.

Tracy Davies, HR and Training Manager at ategi, spoke about how SpeakInConfidence aligns with their organisational culture:

“This fits perfectly with our culture. We’re really open. We’re really transparent. We want to know how staff feel, and we want them to have a mechanism to raise concerns and issues; to complain, or to access support. It’s good for us. It’s good for employees – it instils confidence. It definitely adds value.”

Davies went on to explain that ategi has a current suite of processes to facilitate staff feedback that involves face-to-face team meetings and a consultation process. These aim to include everyone in the organisation from the front-line service providers to the Chief Executive. ategi is very keen to complement this functionality with SpeakInConfidence, granting all employees an anonymous means to share their thoughts and concerns. The anonymity will help ensure that their current open-door policy becomes all the more robust.

ategi will be implementing SpeakInConfidence in 2019.

WorkInConfidence have recently provided ategi with their TwoWayVision service, offering an online solution to gathering time-consuming staff survey data. ategi considers staff surveys an essential function of their operation but have previously relied on paper-based surveys that were difficult to track, time-consuming and complex to compile, and often difficult to interpret.

Davies told us about how they felt TwoWayVision made the process of their staff survey so much easier:

“The feedback we had from staff said that they’d found it really easy and straightforward. They like the fact that it was online. It was great, and the cost was amazing. WorkInConfidence collated all the results and produced an excellent report for us. The system made the results very visual so that we could easily share the feedback with staff. It did a really great job of highlighting the main areas of satisfaction, and the results helped draw our attention towards areas to concentrate on. The support was brilliant – WorkInConfidence replied to emails straight away. If you want to chat with them over the phone, they’d do that as well. We were super-chuffed.” – Tracy Davies, HR and Training Manager
